Found in the garden of the Whitlesey
family home by John Whitlesey, (first President of the International Violet
Association) who runs one of North America's premier violet nurseries.
It is described as being significantly different to
any other V. odorata cultivar in
that it has slightly hirsute leaves, and extremely vigorous growth. The flowers whilst being small are borne on
long slender 6 in stems, and are a delicate shade of lilac-pink, fading nearly
to white with a lovely perfume.
